Wedding Photographer in Morris County
From the historic estates of Morristown to the rolling hills of Chester, we bring 14 years and 750+ weddings of experience to every Morris County celebration.
Why Morris County Is a Premier Wedding Destination
Morris County sits at the crossroads of history and natural beauty. The region's grand estates, manicured gardens, and tree-lined villages create wedding settings that feel both timeless and distinctly New Jersey. From the stately elegance of venues along the historic Morristown Green to the pastoral charm of Mendham and Chester, every wedding here carries a sense of occasion. Having photographed hundreds of celebrations across this county, we understand how to use its architecture, gardens, and seasonal beauty to produce images that couples treasure for a lifetime.
What Makes Our Morris County Wedding Photography Different
With 14 years of experience and more than 750 weddings behind us, we do not just show up and take pictures — we craft a visual story of your day. We study the light at your venue ahead of time, coordinate seamlessly with your wedding planner and other vendors, and move through the day with a calm confidence that helps you stay relaxed and present. Our style balances photojournalistic candids with beautifully composed portraits, so your gallery captures both the sweeping moments and the quiet, intimate ones.
Getting Around Morris County on a Wedding Day
Morris County is well served by road, and that works in your favor as long as the timeline respects rush hour. I-287 runs the length of the county, I-80 crosses the top of it, and Route 10, Route 46, and Route 24 do most of the local work between Parsippany, Whippany, Madison, and Florham Park. The interchange where I-80 and I-287 meet in Parsippany is the pinch point, and a five o'clock ceremony with guests arriving from the east means asking them to sit in it. The western half of the county is a different problem entirely. Chester, Mendham, and Long Valley look close to Morristown on a map, but Route 24 and Route 206 wind through them at thirty-five miles an hour and the real drive is closer to half an hour. If your suite is at a Route 10 hotel and your ceremony is out in the hills, that is a transfer to plan around rather than improvise. Morristown itself is compact but tight — a one-way grid around the Green, metered street parking, and garages that fill on a Friday night — so couples getting ready downtown should expect a walk between the door and the car, and we build a few minutes in for it instead of rushing a gown down a block.
Light and Seasons in Morris County
Morris County photographs in layers. The eastern half around Parsippany and Florham Park is flat and open, with usable light straight through to sunset. West of Morristown the land climbs into the hills around Mendham, Chester, and Schooley's Mountain, where the ridges shave off the end of the evening and golden hour arrives sooner and runs shorter than the forecast suggests. The low ground has its own effect: the Great Swamp basin and the river bottoms near Loantaka and Whippany hold cool air, and on a clear September or October night a ground fog can settle across a lawn within half an hour of sunset. It ruins nothing, and it makes a striking backdrop when we are ready for it. Fall color runs about a week behind Sussex, peaking across most of Morris in the second half of October with the Chester and Mendham hills turning first. The date that catches couples out is the first Sunday in November, when the clocks fall back and sunset jumps to roughly four forty-five. An early-November wedding needs its portraits before the ceremony, not after, and we plan the day that way from the first conversation.
Engagement Sessions Throughout Morris County
Every wedding package includes a complimentary engagement session. Morris County is full of gorgeous locations for these shoots: the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown, the charming downtown streets of Madison, the trails and overlooks at Jockey Hollow, or the grounds of a venue like Willowbrook or Park Savoy. These sessions let us get to know you as a couple, test lighting and angles, and ensure that on your wedding day we can move quickly and confidently through your portraits.
