Liberty House Restaurant
A Liberty State Park wedding venue with the Manhattan skyline on one side and the Statue of Liberty on the other. A skyline backdrop that does half the work for us.
About Liberty House
A venue we know by heart
Liberty House is one of the rare NJ wedding venues where the backdrop actually matters more than the venue itself. You're standing on the Jersey side of Upper New York Bay. The Statue of Liberty is behind you. Manhattan is in front of you. Ellis Island is a few hundred yards offshore. And the light on the water at sunset is some of the most photogenic in the entire tri-state area.
Karni and Zilvinas were married here, and what made their wedding unforgettable wasn't the venue's interior (which is beautiful — ivory walls, chandeliers, wraparound glass) — it was how seamlessly the outdoor waterfront flowed into the reception. We shot cocktail hour on the patio with the skyline lighting up behind them. Then the room went dark and the city took over as decor.
Liberty House is also meaningfully easier for NYC-based guests than most NJ venues. The PATH connects directly. A handful of guests Ubered over from Manhattan in under 20 minutes. That matters when you're planning for a mixed NYC/NJ/international crowd.
From a Couple We Shot Here
“We had a multicultural wedding with many traditions to capture, and Mauricio handled every single one beautifully. He did his research beforehand so he knew exactly what moments to look for during our ceremony.”

Where We Shoot
The best photo spots
After shooting here, these are the corners we return to for the quiet portraits and the moments that actually matter.
The Manhattan skyline terrace
The main reason to book Liberty House. We shoot couple portraits here at dusk when the skyline is half-lit and the water is reflecting the city. Non-negotiable stop on wedding day.
The wraparound glass windows
Inside the reception space, the floor-to-ceiling windows face the water. Great for interior portraits where the skyline is the frame — you get the cozy indoor feel with the dramatic outdoor view.
The garden courtyard
A quieter, more intimate spot for a first look or family portraits before the ceremony. Also a solid rain plan for ceremony if weather turns.
The walkway along the water
Long, uninterrupted stretch with both skyline and water views. We use it for walking shots during cocktail hour when the crowd is inside.
The Statue of Liberty background
South-facing window and patio angle. We plan one specific couple portrait with Lady Liberty framed behind you — quietly iconic, never gimmicky.
The ivory-and-chandelier ballroom
Classic wedding reception look. White walls let the skyline windows do the heavy lifting for light and color.
A Sample Day
An ideal timeline here
Your day is yours — but this is what tends to work beautifully at Liberty House.
2:00 PM
Getting ready at a nearby hotel
Liberty House doesn't have dedicated getting-ready suites, so most couples prep at The Westin or Hyatt Regency Jersey City nearby. We come to you.
3:30 PM
First look in Liberty State Park
The park surrounds the venue. Shaded, quiet, and a great lead-in to the waterfront portraits.
4:30 PM
Ceremony (indoor or outdoor)
Both work beautifully. Outdoor gets you the skyline; indoor gets you the glass-wall view and guaranteed weather.
5:30 PM
Golden hour portraits on the terrace
Our favorite 20 minutes of a Liberty House wedding. The skyline starts glowing and the light on the water is incredible.
6:15 PM
Skyline dusk shot
There's a 10-minute window right at twilight when Manhattan is half-lit and the sky is deep blue. We pause dinner for a single quick portrait that always becomes the cover image of the gallery.
6:30 PM
Reception
Skyline turns into the decoration for the night. Dance floor photos with the city lighting up outside are a Liberty House signature.
A Few Questions
Before you reach out
Have you photographed weddings at Liberty House before?+
Yes. Karni & Zilvinas had a multicultural wedding here in 2022. We know the light windows, the best terrace spots, and how to manage portraits around the harbor traffic.
How does the Manhattan skyline affect photography?+
Honestly, it does half our work. The challenge isn't 'does this venue look good in photos' — it's 'how do we not rely on the view as a crutch.' We focus on capturing the couple and let the skyline be the backdrop it is.
Is Liberty House good for multicultural weddings?+
Exceptionally. The ballroom handles tradition-heavy ceremonies and reception rituals without feeling cramped. We've shot weddings here that blended three different cultures and the venue made room for all of it.
What about parking for our Manhattan guests?+
The venue has a parking lot, but most NYC guests take the PATH or Uber — it's easier and meaningfully faster than bridge/tunnel traffic. Keep that in mind when setting arrival times.
Does the Spring Sale pricing apply to Liberty House weddings?+
Yes. Every 2026 Liberty House date is eligible if contracted by April 30. Signature drops to $2,495 (from $3,495), Full Story to $2,995 (from $4,295).
